The Rat & Dragon team have landed in New York to attend Tribeca Film Festival and follow Sutu and Future Dreaming’s young protagonists as they explore the festival and surrounding city that never sleeps.

“This place is way bigger than Melbourne,” a somewhat surprised Maverick shares from the top of the Empire State Building, “it’s deadly, but I do miss home. What’s with all the huge pizza everywhere?”

The Rat & Dragon team will stay for 10 days from opening night, to explore the Tribeca Film Festival, represent Future Dreaming and Australian film makers on the global stage and capture the sights and sounds for an extra episode of the accompanying documentary, viewable on SBS from early 2020.

10 months of pre-production and 3 months of production throughout 6 counties have been successfully wrapped as the RaD team head into the studio to post-produce a whopping 27 films for adventure travel specialist Intro Travel.

“Scheduling all these deliverables was quite a challenge, especially as we zoomed across the planet to attend Tribeca Film Festival slap bang in the middle of production,” explains producer Nicola, ” but once you get into the groove, there’s no turning back.”

Featuring Intro Travel’s brand new Japan destination was a definite highlight, along with three brand new narrative pieces to be launched throughout 2020.

Future Dreaming has been officially selected for this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, news which has delighted director Sutu, creators Ali, Maxi, Nelson and Maverick as well as the entire production team and of course documentary creators Rat & Dragon.

“Tribeca is one of the heavy hitters on the festival circuit, and we can’t wait to attend,” shares producer Nicola, “it will also be a great opportunity to capture an extra episode of the kids experiencing New York. We can’t wait!”

The Future Dreaming project will be available at key VR hubs around Australia and the documentary is set to air on SBS in 2020.

Following the great success of previous projects for leading youth and adventure travel specialist Intro Travel, the Rat & Dragon team are heading off on an epic 3 month project across 6 countries.

“We’re very excited about this project,” explains director Saxon, “as we’ll be creating some brand new narrative content alongside an exiting new addition to the Intro Travel offering and many other smaller shoots. We can’t wait to share more but for the moment we’ll have to keep you guessing!”

The team head off first to Thailand, followed by Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and Australia, in addition to a top secret new destination.
